You’ll play a key role in delivering excellent client service while helping shape Metis HR’s next phase of growth. The role offers autonomy, support, and the chance to influence both operations and client acquisition strategy in a well-established consultancy with a strong reputation.
In addition, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to become a shareholder and thereby benefit from the increasing value of the business over time and become an integral part of the business.
Why Metis HR Exists
Metis HR was established in 2011 after its founder was made redundant. For years she had seen first-hand how often employers, managers and even HR professionals lacked the confidence to deal with people problems directly. Issues were passed from one person to another, allowed to grow bigger, fuelled by fear of legal action or saying the wrong thing, while employees who sounded like they knew the law gained the upper hand.
Metis HR exists to cut through the confusion and give employers the confidence to act. Its name comes from Metis, the Greek goddess of good counsel and wisdom. Its strapline, “protecting employers against their own employees”, makes its mission clear: to help employers use the law correctly, act commercially, and stay in control.
Metis HR works exclusively with SMEs—businesses without in-house HR who are often reliant on impersonal, insurance-backed advice or generic support from membership organisations. Metis HR offers a better way: practical, honest, no-fluff HR support that puts employers first.
Why Join Metis HR
You’ll have the autonomy of a senior consultant role, but with the backing of a strong brand, systems, and operational support. You won’t be alone in finding clients—Metis HR’s referral network, visibility strategy, and existing client base will give you a head start.
Metis HR is growing. It is looking for an experienced HR Consultant who not only delivers exceptional advice and support to clients but also has a proven ability to build strong relationships and bring in new business.
This is a delivery and business development role, ideal for someone who is:
- Already working in an HR consultancy or similar environment

What Makes Metis Different
- Metis HR doesn’t do fluff. Its advice is calm, commercial, and gives clients the confidence to act.
